We don’t have the final schedule for 2012 yet, but we do know the opponents.

Home — Buffalo, Miami, New England, Houston, Indianapolis, San Diego, Arizona, San Francisco.

Away — Buffalo, Miami, New England, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Seattle.

Of course we will be at every home game in 2012 like we always are. As far as away games, all of the games except Tennesee, St Louis, and Seattle are possible full on TGJ road trips. Leave some comments on what your thoughts are for where we should be for road games in 2012.

Fox 5 called us this week and asked for help with an on-air piece they were putting together.  They wanted to know who had the best tailgate each week and the answer was easy, Tailgate Joe.  So they invited us both to be a part of the Good Day New York show on Friday morning.

Baltimore was the site of TailgateJoe’s first away game tailgate, and we really couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off our road trips. Baltimore has some great nightlife, great food, and great sports fans. The Ravens fans were courteous and gracious for he most part, outside of a handful of mostly female fans. The one thing I have noticed in my years traveling to other stadiums is that it is usually a female fan who is be big mouth, go figure.

Anywho, Chef Sal and I arrived early Saturday evening, and hit up Chap’s Pit Beef for dinner. Pit beef is a big thing in Baltimore, and Chaps is the best. They were even featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, although the fact that Chaps is in front of maybe the most ghetto strip club in Baltimore was not mentioned in the show. The beef was delicious, and the people watching at 12am was a nice bonus as one cracked out stripper after another walked in and was bathed in the lovely fluorescent lighting. YIKES!! After dinner we headed down near the Inner Harbor, and wondered around some of the bars and clubs in the Power Plant Live nightlife complex.

The next morning we ran some last minute errands then headed over to the parking lot to set up for the tailgate party. This was a decent turnout, as we had 40 Jets fans show up to rally together and enjoy some great food and watch the Yankees playoff on our HD Directv setup. Unfortunately this is where the fun really ended, as we then went into the game and watched a trainwreck as the Jets just couldn’t get it done on the field.

Fresh off our week 1 home opener victory, everyone was pumped to keep the streak going in week 2 against Jones-Drew and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Well, gang green didn’t disappoint as the New York Jets took to the field and destroyed them! The tailgate party was one of the best we have ever had, with great weather, the guys from the World Pong Tour stopping by for a tournament and Theresa and a few of her Bar Top Bandits, and some great food! With 182 die hard Jets (and a handful of Jax) fans coming by, it was a great day with fellow fans.

Well, after a football-starved summer with the lockout, people were ready to come out for the week 1 home opener as the New York Jets hosted the Dallas Cowboys. Between it being week 1, a marquee opponent, a late game, and of course the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, we had an all time record with over 305 people rocking out and enjoying some great food and camaraderie at the tailgate party. We had some great stuff on the tables, as our week 1 menu is always a Mexican theme.

New York, NY – January 5, 2011 – The New York Jet’s largest fan club and game-day tailgate party goes nationwide for the 2011 season. In addition to every home game, Joe will be doing his parties and bringing the “TailgateJoe Experience” to every Jets away game as well in 2011.

With between 120-250 fellow Jets fans showing up for every home game tailgate party during the 2010 home season, Joe is now ready to travel the country and share his passion for Gang Green with displaced Jets fans from coast to coast. Joe and the gang are just regular diehard Jets and football fans who have had their small tailgate party grow from 10 people to the monster of a good party it now is, bringing the American tradition and camaraderie of tailgating to a lot of fans who might otherwise not be able to enjoy it, while at the same time raising a few dollars for a good cause.

The Jets 2011 away schedule is Buffalo, Miami, New England, Denver, Oakland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington. This massive road trip will be about 14,000 miles and entail over 230 hours of driving.  Joe is currently in the design phase of a new Tailgating Trailer that will be hauled from game to game, making the TailgateJoe Experience even more fun and exciting on game-day. While TailgateJoe tailgate parties are all about getting passionate Jets fans together, Joe does have ulterior motives. This coming August, 2011 Joe is celebrating his 15th anniversary in remission from cancer. This trip is his way of commemorating this milestone. While TailgateJoe.com has helped raise over $1,500 over the last 2 years, they anticipate blowing the doors off of that amount by collecting a minimum of $5 from every fan that joins in on their game-day festivities, benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will also be contests and special events throughout the season to help raise money and awareness for Lymphoma, as well as contests and opportunities for some TailgateJoe fan-club members to join in on the road-trips as well.

In addition to throwing the best tailgate party in the NFL, Joe and the gang will be taking in the sights at the cities we play in, as well as interesting stops along the way. They plan on documenting the whole trip with pictures, video, and writing. That’s right, this coming Saturday, July 31st, Joe and Chef Sal will be competing in The Great Hot Dog Cookoff!!

20 amateur chefs will be competing to create the ultimate hot dog. TailgateJoe will be there with their “competition spec” mexican hot dog, dubbed “The Sanchize Dog.” It is going to be a great big block party in Brooklyn at Kelso Brewery with plenty of free beer and great food, and all for a great cause!

The Great Hot Dog Cookoff started as a modest, friendly, cooking competition for Kara Masi and her friends 5 years ago. 50 people hanging out around the grill in year one grew to 100 the next year, and 175 the next. After three years of running the hot dog cookoffs out of Kara Masi‘s backyard, we upgraded to the headquarters  of lead sponsor, Kelso Brewery, in Clinton Hill in 2009 and brought on co-organizers Jennie Gustafson and Melissa Sands. We’ll be doing it up again at the Brewery for the 2010 5th Annual Cookoff. This culinary competition and fundraiser has raised over $8,000 to date for local charities including City Harvest, BARC Animal Shelter and the Food Bank of New York City. This year alone, we’re aiming to raise another $8,000 with the help of 300 hungry guests, 20 teams of fierce amateur chefs, and great line-up of generous sponsors and volunteers.

This is the first Team TailgateJoe competition, we plan on doing a bunch of them. If you run or know of a great cooking competition let us know about it!
